UDOT 4500 S Construction

May 12, 2017

UPDATE on 4500 S UDOT Construction – May 19

Milling and paving operations are underway on 4500 South between Wasatch Blvd. and 700 East. To facilitate this work, no street parking will be allowed. Crews are placing barrels in areas to deter people from parking. Please don’t park in these areas as it could affect operations.

Upcoming Work
▪ Milling and paving side street approaches
▪ Milling and paving the intersections between Wasatch Blvd. and 900 East is anticipated to start this weekend and take approximately one week
▪ Milling and paving mainline 4500 South is anticipated to begin after Memorial Day
▪ Installation of a new concrete median on the west leg of 4500 South and Highland Drive intersection

By working at night, crews are able to avoid impacts to peak travel times and get the project completed much faster. We understand night work can be noisy. Our team would be happy to bring ear plugs to your home. Please let us know if you would like some and how many. Thank you for your patience.

 

2017-18 Tentative Budget & Notice of Public Hearings

May 9, 2017

On May 4, 2017 Manager Chamness presented the tentative budget proposal for FY 2017-18.  
The current FY 2016-17 budget totals $14.5 million in expected General Fund revenue and expenses. A number of changes have been identified and proposed.  To read more and see the proposed budget and other information, click here

** Both the City Council and the RDA Board will hold public hearings on Thursday, June 1 starting at 6:00 pm on the proposed budgets and budget amendments.

2017 Municipal Election 

Open Seats:

District  #1 – Council  Member

District  #3 – Council Member

(All open seats are 4-year terms)

 

Have you ever thought about running for City Council?  The City of Holladay will have the three open Council seats in the upcoming election.  Candidates must file a “Declaration of Candidacy” form, in person with the City Recorder.  

The filing period runs from Thursday, June 1 through Wednesday, June 7 during regular City Hall hours:  8:00am -5:00pm, Monday through Friday.  There is a $35 non-refundable filing fee. 

Candidates for office must:

  • be a resident of the City of Holladay for at least 12 consecutive months immediately prior to the date of the General Election
  • must be a resident of the district they are running for
  • be a United States citizen
  • be 18 yrs of age or older
  • be a registered voter in the City of Holladay
